The Discover is the only commercially available single mode microwave system that can perform reactions either in a pressurized format or non-pressurized format (in an “open” vessel or reflux reaction). The flexibility to perform reactions in either format guarantees the greatest value from a single microwave system.
Reactions ranging from 200 µL up to 50 mL can be performed using 10-mL, 35-mL, or 80-mL (total volume) sealed reaction vessels. Round-bottom flasks can also be used with the Discover, up to 125 mL in volume. Most vessels are capable of performing reactions up to 300 °C, the highest temperature available on a commercial single-mode microwave system.
Discover SP vessels
and caps are specially designed to work with the system's ActiVent™ Pressure Control Technology. The easy-to-use caps allow any excess pressure in the reaction vessel to be released prior to user intervention, ensuring the safest possible mode of operation before, during, and after the reaction.
10-mL Reaction Vessel
These are our most popular reaction vessels. Perform small scale scouting reactions quickly and easily with this simple format. Reactions ranging from 200 µL to 7 mL can be performed in a single reaction vessel. These reaction vessels can be automatically placed in the Discover using the Explorer autosampler.
35-mL Reaction Vessel
The 35-mL reaction vessels serve as a slightly larger scale option. Reactions ranging from 2.0 mL up to 25 mL can be performed using this single reaction vessel. They can also be automated using the Explorer autosampler.
80-mL Reaction Vessel
The 80-mL vessel is an optional setup for any Discover System. It will allow the use of up to 50 mL of material in the vessel for larger scale reactions. The 80-mL vessel can be equipped with an optional fiber optic probe for rapid temperature monitoring.
